SAN JOSÉ CASE STUDY
Which EV should replace a 17-year-old Corolla?
Every car is on the chart below. Point at a dot to preview it, or select any car to open its full snapshot: specs, rebates, charging cost and how long it takes to pay for itself.
The 3 best deals
Hollow markers use WLTP or NEDC range, which typically reads higher than EPA, so compare them with U.S. cars cautiously.
Upper left offers more rated range for less money. Brand logos are spaced slightly to reduce overlap; previews show the model and exact values. Hover or focus a marker to preview a car; select it for sources and the full snapshot.
Sources & methodology
Dashed lines mark the medians of the 16 U.S. cars; the shaded corner has a lower price and higher rated range than the U.S. medians. The three highlighted deals are the lowest list prices, not a range-per-dollar ranking. U.S. prices are list prices including destination, before incentives.
Regional points are price scenarios for the same three models (extra credit). Mexico and South American means include local retail taxes; Chile removes documented VAT. Prices are converted to USD at November 6, 2026 central-bank rates.
